It was definitely an underdog night, and in the world of sports booking MMA fights.  And this is what the bettor wants.  In some of the bigger fights tonight the underdogs pulled it out.  Let's look at the scenario.

Three of the five fights on the main card were won by underdogs.  Therefore, had you bet on the three fights where the underdog had won you would have came out on top.

$100 on Edgar paid $250

$100 on Sonnen paid $185

$100 on McFedries paid $155

Total wagered $300 paid $590 almost doubling your money.  Not a bad night.

Want to try your luck on the next fight?  $20 gets you started.

Let's talk about the odds on MMA fight betting.  What are they and why are they important to you?

Traditional sports like basketball and football have point spreads like -6 or +10.  Mixed Martial Arts fight odds are called "moneylines" and are expressed differently.  Moneylines are a way for the sportsbook to even out the betting on a fighter to the public.  If you look at the link on the site that lists the updated odds on the upcoming fights you will see the fighter's name and a number listed to the right.
