Kimbo Slice Ultimate Fighter TUF 10 Episode 1

TUF 10 episode 1 of the Ultimate Fighter Heavyweights was an overall disappointment.  I personally didn’t like how they brought in and introduced Kimbo Slice as an ultimate fighter contestant.  I’ve been following the talks about the premiere of TUF 10 all summer.  So I wasn’t that surprised and I’m sure the other contestants weren’t either.   They had to know ahead of time who was going to be competing with them. Preliminary Fights shown on Spike live for first time ever

For the first time ever, the UFC will air the preliminary fights leading up to the main card for UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort.

This I believe is a great marketing technique to draw more pay-per-view buys for the main card.  We have seen this tactic before in another genius entrepreneur, Vince McMahon, CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment. Read the rest of this entry »

Josh Barnett Will Not Fight Fedor Affliction Trilogy Canceled

Ok I know this is a little late in the news but there are still some questions to be answered. Check out the rise and fall of Affliction video and let me know how you think this will play out.

After Josh Barnett's failed drug test resulted in a license denial and ended the chance to get into the ring with Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction Trilogy.  Not only did this end the head lining card but also ended the entire event.  A plausible substitution could not be found on short notice so it was decided to cancel the event to be held on August 1, 2009.
