Fedor Emelianenko’s Highest Risk Fight

Fedor Affliction logo
Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko has everything to lose and everything to gain tomorrow night at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois as he takes on a larger but inexperienced Brett “The Grim” Rogers. His risk of losing this fight clearly out weighs winning because if he wins this still is not a challenge of proving he is the best fighter in MMA. According to the moneylines Fedor is obviously a huge favorite. Check the money lines/fight odds here: MONEYLINES

Fedor has all the qualities of a true superstar in this sport. He is one of the most humble fighters with no eccentric ego attributes of the typical type A personality found in other fighters of high quality. He also has the record to back this superstar moniker, losing only one fight in his professional career.

But after all of that he has the potential to make a lot of money too. But that is one of the risks he is taking on with Rogers. There is always a chance that Brett could catch Emelianenko on the temple with a heavy strike and knock out Fedor's chances at a super fight in the UFC, or drop his stock in future main event cards. That's the downside.

The upside to this fight is that it is broadcast on live TV giving him more exposure to the masses. A lot of people have heard of this phenomenon the last emperor, but have never actually seen him fight. The rest of the fight card isn't that impressive and would probably not garner many pay-per-view buys based on the head liner. We have seen this too many times before.

My prediction is a Win by Fedor by submission, rear naked choke or armbar. I don't see him landing a knock out on Roger's chin.
