Kimbo Slice Next Fight is competing in TUF 10

Kimbo Slice Next Fight
Dana White made another genius maneuver in getting one of the most popular fighters ever in his camp. The meanest most feared backyard bare knuckle fighter in the world, Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson's next fight will be to compete in the next season of The Ultimate Fighter, TUF 10. Everyone knows the history of this man and his rise to fame on the internet and in the now defunct Elite XC. All that is in the past now a new challenge has been placed before him, an entrance to the "Big Show" of Mixed Martial Arts, the UFC.
Kimbo will be a contestant in the Ultimate Fighting Championship's reality series, The Ultimate Fighter 10. TUF 10 has already started filming and will most likely feature Kimbo alot in the house with the other fighters. I have to admit I don't usually watch TUF but I may get into season 10 because I am interested in the outcome of where Kimbo will fit into the big picture.
We all know Kimbo is going to be around the UFC for a while or at least assume that. So the big question is, does he win TUF 10 and get the contract or will he be beat out by another fighter and still get a contract. Dana has all of the cards stacked here in his favor. He probably got Kimbo Slice to sign a contract for a song while he still has a decent name and following in MMA. Now if Kimbo can win TUF 10 or not, it doesn't matter to Dana White because he can still sign him for fights and bring in more viewers for pay per view. I would watch any fight Dana put together with Kimbo whether it be with Brock Lesner, Frank Mir, or even Emmanuel Yarborough.
I am glad Dana changed his opinion of Kimbo though. Here is a clip from one year ago where Dana was interviewed about Kimbo's abilities.

Kimbo will get flushed in the UFC, but he can still draw a crowd and more interest in the mixed martial art$ world. Depending on who they match him up with and how fast he goes up against the real deal talent there. Kimbo dont be a dumb ass make you money before they rack your ass up, then you go back to being homeless.

With the right training kimbo will be a challenge for anybody in any venue…alot of people like to run their mouths about kimbo in negative ways but the truth is, kimbo slice is a competitor and anyone who says he is a bum or anything like that definitely would not have the backbone to step in a octagon, ring, or backyard and challenge him to put their theories to the test…i give any proffessional athlete their respect in their sport no matter what thier stats are as should everyone else.

I agree Big Mike, Kimbo is not someone to just count out. If Dana is spending promo time and money touting Kimbo as a big draw to The Ultimate Fighter 10 you can bet he won’t let Kimbo slack off.

Kimbo should definetly join the UFC. I think he would dominate. His first fight should be with Brock Lesner. So he can shut his over confident mouth up, and really show him who is boss. Give Kimbo the chance at the belt

I’m telling you, this is a great step for Kimbo. I just can’t wait for Kimbo to gain more experience and get the chance to shut Lesner’s mouth! What would that do for the Kimbo and the UFC?!?

I agree with you. You know that’s been Dana’s plan from the beginning. He wants to put Brock and Kimbo on the headline card. Once Kimbo starts to get his ground game and submissions down he will be fierce. Brock’s big asset is the wrestling background but he has no finishing moves other than the raining down of hammer fists. They won’t win every fight he has to diversify. And I believe that Kimbo will be the first heavyweight in the UFC to knock down Lesnar with a punch.

Do you guys really believe Kimbo could ever beat Brock? Lesnar right now has become an unstoppable force, Kimbo although an older dog still learning new tricks, is not yet anyways, or may never be, an unmovable object. Although it would fill the seats, the fight would probably not last very long and Kimbo would most likely be the loser. So why does anyone even want to see Lesnar fight a can like Kimbo? If he starts winning some bigger fights then we can talk.

Are you kidding me? Lesnar vs Kimbo would be a slaughter. Slice would have nothing when Lesnar went for a take down. Brock would pin Kimbos arms behind his head and beat him worse than he did Mir. Talk all the smack you want about Lesnar but his takedowns and speed doing it are amazing. His style is ugly as hell but it works.

Savage you are right about the takedown speed, and his ugly style. And that is what is one day going to be result of Brock’s losses. Don’t count out Kimbo standing toe to toe with him. Kimbo can box. If he learns anything in TUF 10 it should be the shoot/takedown defense. Because if that’s where he’s the weakest (on the ground) and he should defend it to stay standing as long as he can where he has a better chance.

To the people saying they want to see Lesnar and Slice fight… please! Seriously I hate Lesnar but he would murder Slice in the octagon, now if there were no takedowns and it was just punching alone I might give Slice a chance simply cause I think Lesnar’s chin is suspect, but that fight is never going to happen, Slice got in the game too late and you will never convince me Slice can hang with Dos Santos, Carwin, Nog, Cro Cop or Mir, let alone Lesnar

Hey I’m new to MMA, but I’ve been in and seen more street fights than i would like to admit. Kimbo is a classic street fighter. Good chin hard hitter and no fear. And that right there will be his road to glory or path to defeet. Not having fear and having a lot of hart is key in any kind of fight. Now lets get real Kimbo will be at least 2 years in the UFC (if he wins TUF) before his even considered for a title shot. In that time Slice will be training with the best his ground game will improve to the point where he will afectvely deffend him self from take downs and ground and pound. Now if he stands toe to toe with the likes of Nogera, Cro cop, Mir, ect. he’s got a chance. If White sees that potencial in the man and dosen’t feed him to the wolves right of the bat….. he can develope in to a good and viable canidate to fight for the belt in a couple of years. Then again he could get smashed in his first fight in TUF and all this will be for not. Good luck Kimbo your going to need it.
